🏔️ 🇧🇹 BhuTAN 🇧🇹 🏔️
a 14 day PILGRIMAGE IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF PADMASAMBHAVA
🗓 1 - 14 October 2027
Introducing
the SACRED EARTH J🌎URNEY
Series
The Sacred Earth Journeys are a unique series of transformational pilgrimages that combine sacred travel, Tantra, meditation, and personal growth. Each journey explores one of the Earth's powerful energetic regions while inviting you to awaken a corresponding dimension of consciousness within yourself.
This unique pilgrimage takes us into the mystical Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, a land of sacred mountains, ancient monasteries, hidden valleys, and living Vajrayana traditions. Walking in the footsteps of Padmasambhava, Guru Rinpoche, we enter a landscape where the outer world and inner world have been woven together through centuries of spiritual practice.
This is a journey of initiation, transformation and awakening.
Over fourteen unforgettable days, we travel through the sacred valleys of Bhutan, from the ancient temples of Paro and the spiritual heart of Bumthang to the vibrant Buddhist festivals of Wangdue and Tamshing, culminating at the legendary Tiger's Nest — Taktsang, the sacred site associated with Guru Rinpoche's meditation and awakening.
Along the way, every destination becomes a living classroom. Ancient temples, Himalayan mountain passes, sacred rivers, monasteries and caves become doorways into deeper states of awareness, inviting us to experience the wisdom of Tantra, meditation and Vajrayana through direct experience.
Each day includes carefully guided practices that cultivate presence, embodiment, inner stillness and expanded awareness, allowing the energy and wisdom of each sacred place to become part of our own journey.
Through Tantra, meditation, ceremony, contemplation and pilgrimage, we explore the nature of consciousness and awaken our capacity for transformation. We encounter the teachings of Guru Rinpoche and the great Himalayan masters while allowing the sacred landscape itself to become a profound teacher.
With spaciousness and intention, we journey through Bhutan's sacred valleys, taking time to walk in silence, meditate within ancient temples, connect with local culture, experience living Buddhist traditions and integrate the insights that arise along the way.
This is a journey across the sacred landscape of Bhutan and into the sacred landscape within ourselves.
Our pilgrimage culminates high above the Paro valley at Taktsang, where Guru Rinpoche is traditionally said to have meditated. Here, surrounded by the Himalayan mountains, we gather the wisdom of the journey and open ourselves to the vastness, clarity and awakened potential of consciousness.
The Earth becomes our temple.
The journey becomes our practice.
The sacred landscape becomes a mirror of our own awakening.

🪷 Padmasambhava - Guru Rinpoche
Padmasambhava, known in Tibet and Bhutan as Guru Rinpoche - the Precious Master, or Lotus Born is one of the most revered spiritual figures of the Himalayan Buddhist tradition. Traditionally regarded as an awakened master, tantric adept and great teacher, his influence continues to illuminate the spiritual landscape of Bhutan and Tibet.
According to Bhutanese tradition, Padmasambhava came to Bhutan in the 8th century, travelling through its mountains and valleys, meditating in caves, blessing sacred sites and establishing teachings that would become foundations of Vajrayana Buddhism in the Himalayas.
His presence is woven deeply into the landscape we will explore.
At Kurjey Lhakhang, we encounter the sacred site where Guru Rinpoche is traditionally said to have meditated, leaving the imprint of his body in the rock. At Mebar Tsho, we enter the world of treasure teachings and the great tertön Pema Lingpa. And at Taktsang - Tiger's Nest, our pilgrimage culminates at the extraordinary cliffside sanctuary where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated after arriving in Bhutan on the back of a tigress.
For us, Padmasambhava becomes more than a historical or religious figure. He represents the awakened potential within every human being - the capacity to transform experience into wisdom, limitation into freedom and ordinary awareness into expanded consciousness.
Throughout the journey, we will explore selected stories, teachings, symbols and practices connected with Guru Rinpoche, allowing them to come alive through meditation, contemplation and direct experience.
His path invites us to discover the inner Guru - the dimension of wisdom, clarity, courage and awakened awareness that is already present within us.
As we walk in the footsteps of Padmasambhava through the sacred valleys of Bhutan, the outer pilgrimage becomes a mirror for an inner journey: a journey toward our own awakened nature.
